Believers Church Bengaluru Diocese held a tailoring graduation on the 15th of August.
Mr. Parushram (Engineer in Brindavan Garden), Mrs. Malini (Headmistress in Government School) and Mr. Prakash (Government College Teacher) were invited as the chief guests.
In order to help widows and other women who would like to learn a skill that they can use to support themselves and their children, Bridge of Hope began tailoring classes.
These classes teach women a very valuable skill, one that has the potential to allow them to earn an income and help them feed their families. Around 25 sisters graduated and received certificates and gifts from Bridge of Hope tailoring training centre.
Prema says, “I am married to Mahesh, who is a daily wage laborer. He earns a little amount for our daily needs. But his monthly income was not sufficient to run my family. But when I came to know of the Bridge of Hope centre and its free tailoring training, I joined and learned. Now it is useful and I am able to sew. I taught my husband also. I thank the Lord that he too learned. Now we are planning to open small tailoring shop.”
Through tailoring classes Believers Church potentially improves not only the quality of a single family but that of an entire community.
