Bridge of Hope in the Diocese of Kolkata celebrated the 68th Independence Day of India in 30 different centers on 15th August this year. Altogether 2,000 children took part in these programs.
Bishop Dr. Juria Bardhan was the chief guest of one of the centers. Each center had a flag-hoisting followed by a mass rally in which the children raised the message of peace. And then, the Bridge of Hope children conducted cultural programs and performed various dances, dramas, songs and choreography.
On that same day, the various centers also held graduation services for tailoring courses. More than 150 poor women who completed their six-month vocational course received their graduation certificates.
