Believers Church Udaipur Diocese opened a new Bridge of Hope center on the 27th of August.
The village has more than 300 families. The school that they have is only up till 5th standard. After this the children have to go to another village for their higher classes. Hence most children lose interest in studies.
Realizing that a Bridge of Hope center will make a difference in the lives of these children, Udaipur Diocese decided to open a new center in this village.
On the day of inauguration the village sarpanch Mrs. Huki Devi was invited as the chief guest. More than 250 people gathered for the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Huki Devi said, “My dear people, you are lucky to get this Bridge of Hope project. I am sure that your children are going to get a brilliant future through this project. My dear children, be thankful to this Project, make sure that you attend regularly and learn things to change your lifestyle. Learn good manners.” She also extended her thanks to Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan.
Nandlal (14 yrs) was put in school when he was aged 8. His step-mother gives him lots of work at home; carrying water from the well, cleaning the cattle-shed are jobs Nandlal does before and after his school hours. As a result he is unable to concentrate in his studies. He said, “Thank you very much for Bridge of Hope. I want to study well and do high level job to show my talents and skills to the world. I also want to help many children just like me struggling in their lives.”
Believers Church through its Bridge of Hope centers is able to bring hope to thousands of children like Nandlal providing them with nutritious food, education and regular medical checkups.
