Believers Church Medical Center in Purulia organized a blood donation camp on 17th September 2012 in partnership with Red Cross Purulia.
The theme of the camp was “Donate Blood, Win a Life.” The event went from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Attending Red Cross staff included Dr. D. Choudhiry, two medical officers, a blood bank in-charge and two nurses.
A total of 21 people volunteered to donate their blood during the camp. These donors were Believers Church pastors, workers, staff members and church members. They gave their blood happily, saying they wanted to save lives. The blood given through this camp will be donated to those who cannot afford the fees needed to get blood.
Chief Guest Mr. Shantilal Mahto (Member of Parliament, Purulia Constituency) said in his speech, “The best help a man can render a man is to give his own blood when in need. Believers Church workers have proved that today by giving their blood.”
Believers Church Medical Center works to create awareness on health and hygiene and provides basic clinical assistance and medical facilities to those in need.
The center serves people regardless of caste, creed or religion. This center is just one aspect of Believers Church’s medical initiatives. The church holds medical camps and health awareness programs in different locations all throughout South Asia.
