Bishop B. Sunderraj Encourages Widows on International Widows Day
June 23, 2014A Women’s Fellowship team from the Diocese of Jorhat held a sari distribution program in honor of International Widows Day on 22nd June 2014. More than one hundred widows received saris on that day.
Bishop B. Sunderraj inaugurated the program and Mrs. Rosni Aprajit ( Sub- Divisional Officer) was the chief guest of the program. Bishop B. Sunderraj talked to the widows about the importance of the day and distributed saris to them.
Sis. Sabitri, a widow, after receiving sari said “It is the first time that I saw that the widows are honored, I am so encouraged by this program.”
On this International Widows Day, the church encouraged and helped thousands of widows.
