As a part of the ‘Clean India’ campaign initiated by honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi, Believers Church Diocese of Kolkata held a social work in a local town on 2nd October 2014. Bishop Dr. Juria Bardhan inaugurated the activities and gave the guidance for it.
Their main theme was ‘Live Clean and Help Your Neighbor Live Clean.’ The locality they cleaned was untidy and the drainages were filled with plastics, papers and other waste materials. This also caused foul smell which made the local people it difficult to pass by. So, the team including bishop, diocesan staffs and community members cleaned the drainages as well as the streets.
All the local people appreciated the work and also thanked the church for taking a leading role in their locality.
Believers Church conducts social activities each year to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining our locality clean.
