As part of its efforts to help the poor have access to pure drinking water, on 18th July 2017, Believers Church Diocese of Tezpur distributed BioSand Water Filters to needy families in a village.
Unclean water is a continual issue in this area where people rely on contaminated sources to collect water. Despite the water being unfit for drinking and washing, still they continue using this water for their daily needs as they have no access to another source or a way to filter the dirty water.
To make clean water available to them, the church distributed BioSand water filters to 35 families in this village. The beneficiaries thanked the church for providing them with a useful tool which will help them have easy access to clean water and contribute to improving the health of their families.
“There are five members in my family. The water we use for daily purposes is full of iron and yellow in color. Drinking this water caused us lot of illnesses; especially my child would regularly suffer from stomach ailments,” said, Mrs. Rumi Mura, a beneficiary. She added, “I’m sure this filter would solve all these problems”.
