BioSand Water Filter Purifies Iron-Contaminated Water in Believers Church Changlang

Believers Church Changlang distributed 20 BioSand water filters to a needy village on 28th August 2014.

The people in this village are farmers. They draw water from a well that gets contaminated during monsoon. They are unable to afford water filters because of their lack of income, so they had no choice but to drink the iron contaminated water directly. Because of this, typhoid, jaundice and diarrhea were common among them.

Seeing their need, the church distributed 20 BioSand water filters to these villagers. Monikanto taught them how to use the filter.

“Thank you so much for providing me a water filter,” said Mr. Lokhenath, the village head. “Now, we can drink clean and pure water.”

Believers Church provides clean and sustainable drinking water to poverty-stricken families through its clean water project.
