Believers Church Bengaluru Diocese organized a health and hygiene program from the 18th to the 24th of July 2013.
Sis. Naomi conducted the classes. She taught about how to take care of pregnant women and about eradicating child marriages which is still practised in many villages. She also spoke about the importance of breast feeding and cleanliness.
Vimala (50 years) shared that when her daughter-in-law was pregnant she did not care for her. She made her to work from morning till night, good food was not given and her surroundings were unclean. Because of this her daughter-in-law had a premature baby and the child didn’t survive. Now after attending this health care program she realized that care should be given to a pregnant woman.
Rajmaa said, “I recently gave birth to a baby boy. Earlier I did not know that polio vaccine should be given to every child. But after the health care program I got to know about this information and I promised to myself and to our sisters that I will give polio vaccine to my child. I will secure him from all kinds of diseases.”
Believers Church conducts health care training for women in hundreds of villages, educating them on basic health and hygiene.
