Believers Youth Organizes Youth Retreat in Diocese of Itahari

Youth retreats offer wonderful opportunities for youth to deepen their relationship with God and they inspire them to take a more active role in their faith.

On 7 December 2022, the Believers Youth of Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Itahari organized a youth retreat at St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church parish in Sankhuwasabha District of Nepal.

Around 60 youth from nine different local parishes of the district joyfully took part in the retreat, some of them even walked 6 to 8 hours to be part this program.

The theme of the retreat was based on 1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young.”

The first and second sessions were taken by the diocesan vicar of Itahari diocese who encouraged the youth saying, “You are the pillars of the church. You should protect yourselves from all evil influences and live an exemplary life as Timothy lived.” In the second session he taught the youth about the faith and traditions of the Holy Church.

The third session, taken by the district leader, focused on the topic “The character of Believers youth.”

The youth leader of Itahari diocese who took the fourth session spoke on the story of the prodigal son. This was followed by a group discussion.

During the program, the youth of local church performed a Christmas song and dance.
