On 8 March 2022, in celebration of women’s day and Metropolitan’s birthday, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Rwanda joined hands with the Kanombe Sector authorities in distributing ration kits for 50 families in the Biyamana settlement. The inhabitants of the settlement are people who are reallocated by the Government of Rwanda from slums and places of upcoming infrastructural projects of the Government.
The ration kits were received by those from the D category (lowest of the economic class) and were selected by the Kanombe Sector authorities. The items in the ration kit included rice, oil, sugar, washing soap, maize flour and beans.
The event was attended by Nkuuruziza Idrissa (Executive Secretary), Kayiraba Mary (civic education and mobilization officer), and Uwanyirigira Solange (Public health officer). Fr. Allen Jos, Dn. Fr. Abel Punnoose, Br. Simon Dass and Br. Andrew Nziza were involved in the distribution program, on behalf of the Believers Eastern Church. The sector authorities thanked the Church for coming forward with such an initiative to help their people who were in need.
