On 27th August 2024, a Believers Eastern Church parish in Wayanad launched a compassionate relief effort to assist those affected by the recent floods and landslides in the region. Under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Rji Thampan, the parish vicar, a dedicated team of parish members visited three of the most severely impacted villages.
The team not only provided comfort and spiritual support through words of encouragement and prayer but also distributed essential relief items to those in need. A total of 50 families received aid, including dry rations, kitchen utensils, and blankets, with the total value of the assistance amounting to ₹2,50,000.
The beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude to the church for this timely support. Many shared that they have been struggling to manage their lives during this challenging period, and the help provided by the church was a significant relief for their families.
