World Malaria Day was observed across Believers Eastern Church Dioceses on 25 April 2019.
About half of the world’s population is at risk of malaria, which infects more than 500 million people each year and kills more than one million people, according to WHO.
As part of malaria control interventions, Believers Eastern Church dioceses held free blood test camps and medical camps in areas lacking healthcare facilities to detect, treat and prevent malaria among people.
To mark the occasion of World Malaria Day, dioceses held awareness rallies and campaigns to educate people about Malaria and how to prevent and control this life-threatening disease.
Each year, the church distributes hundreds of thousands of mosquito nets among poor families that are at risk of Malaria and this initiative has helped save thousands of lives.
