Inauguration of tube well, distribution of water filters, awareness rallies and campaigns marked this year’s World Water Day celebration held by Believers Eastern Church.
World Water Day is celebrated around the globe each year on March 22 as a means of focusing attention on the importance of water and need to conserve it.
The theme for World Water Day 2019 is “Leaving no one behind”. It looks at why people have been left behind and how access to water and sanitation and sustainable water management can be drivers of change.
As part of World Water Day celebrations, Believers Eastern Church diocese of Dhaka inaugurated a tube well. The inaugural program was attended by around 120 people.
Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Guwahati distributed water filters to 7 needy families, to mark World Water Day.
BioSand water filters were distributed to poor and needy families in Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Kolkata.
Several Believers Eastern Church dioceses took out rallies to raise awareness about the importance of the day and water related issues. Awareness programs about water conservation also were held at different places like schools, villages and slums.
Believers Eastern Church has always been at the forefront, providing sustainable water solutions to communities in need of access to clean water. Through the clean water initiative, the church has constructed 26,000+ tube wells and provided more than 58,000 biosand water filters among needy communities, till date.
