Believers Eastern Church Dioceses Distribute Blankets to Spread Warmth This Christmas

As Christmas is a time of giving, Believers Eastern Church dioceses used this opportunity to reach out to the less fortunate in the society and make a difference in their lives by gifting them with blankets.

On 25 December 2019, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Birtamod organized a special Christmas program where it distributed blankets to 20 single women in the community.

Mr. Jhalak Singh Darlami (Member of Parliament Province 1) was invited as the chief guest for the program. Mr. Bhoj Raj Sitaula (Municipality President) and members of various political parties also were present on the occasion. At the end of the program, blankets were distributed.

On the same day, as part of the Christmas celebrations, Diocese of Mandla distributed blankets to 10 orphan children and 74 poor women. President of Nagar Palika Parishad and Mr. Sonu Bhallawi (Village Head) were invited as special guests for the distribution program.

Diocese of Kolkata distributed blankets to widows and needy families during the pre-Christmas celebration held on 20 December 2019. Shri Rathin Ghosh (MLA and Municipality Chairman), Shri Prakash Raha (Vice-Chairman), Mr. Pinaki Roy (Sub Inspector), Shri Tapas Sarkar (Press Secretary and Editor of Local Daily), Shri Rupak Pramanik (A representative of News Bangla) were among those present at the event.

Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa delivered the Christmas message on the occasion. This was followed by the distribution of blankets by Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar (Member of Parliament).
