Believers Eastern Church Comes to the Aid of Assam Flood Victims

Devastating floods caused by incessant rains have displaced more than 4.23 lakh people across 17 districts of the state of Assam.

To aid the families that have been affected by floods in Assam, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Satgaon held a relief supply distribution in a flood hit village on 13 July 2019. The deluge has forced the residents of this village to flee their homes and take refuge in temporary makeshift shelters erected along the road.

A team from the diocese visited the affected village where they distributed vital supplies like rice, salt, candles, matchbox and water to 18 most affected families that were in desperate need of help.

“Though we feel heartbroken, we are touched by the help received from Believers Eastern Church during our time of crisis” said, Ajit Borah, one of the recipients.
