Believers Church Tinsukia Reaches Out to 135 Widows on International Widows Day

On June 23, 2016, Believers Church Tinsukia held a special program to honor widows in commemoration of this year’s International Widows Day.

To mark this momentous day, the church invited 135 widows from different places of Tinsukia and honored them by gifting them with blankets.

Putoli Dhanuwar, 37 years old, was one of those who received the gift that day. Her husband died in the year 2000, leaving her behind with three children to fend for themselves. Following his death, she faced rejection from family and villagers who blamed her for her husband’s death. She was discouraged and was living in pain. But in the program she felt honored when she was provided with a blanket and she was able to experience a sense of belonging. “What Believers Church is doing for the society is really great,” she said.
