Believers Church Sikkim gave hope to local communities in November 2012 through its Community Development Project. 176 underprivileged families were benefited with gifts including livestock, blankets, carpentry tools and sewing machines on the 20th, 24th and 27th of the month .
The first gift distribution event welcomed Mr. D.K. Gurung (Milan Sangha Samaj Majhi Goan Jorethang) as chief guest. One local man named Meshak received carpentry tools. He sincerely thanked Believers Church for the gift, which will help him provide good education to his children.
At the next Community Development program, one of the honored guests, Mrs. Indramaya Gurung (Zilla Panchayat member), lauded Believers Church’s social action. Mrs. Dhanmaya Gurung (Gram Panchayat Unit member) and Panchayat Secretary Mr. Tashi Bhutia also attended the event.
The final distribution program was held in a nearby village. Mr. Prakash Thapa (Ex SDO Sikkim Government) appreciated the church’s work and urged the local beneficiaries to use their gifts with care.
According to a recipient named Nimit, her gift from Believers Church offered more than help with the family income. To her, it is a constant reminder that someone cares for her and is concerned for her helpless condition.
Believers Church gives tangible hope to thousands each year—strengthening communities by enabling local people to support themselves and their families.
