Believers Church Sikkim conducted an income generating gift distribution program on 27th February 2015. They distributed cows, goats, piglets, tin sheets, sewing machines, carpenter tools, electronic tools, water tanks and momos making vessels to 114 families.
The beneficiaries who received these items are all daily wage laborers who are hardly able to meet their family’s basic needs. So, the church gave them the means to earn additional income through this program.
“Me and my family are living in a small mud made house covered with some old tin sheets. During rainy season, water will leak inside our house and we always struggled a lot because of that,” said Jit Bahadur, a beneficiary. “I did not have money to buy new tin sheets. So, this gift is really a great blessing to me and my family and thank you so much for that.”
Believers Church provides the most basic needs of people in remote villages and help them to break the cycle of poverty.
