Believers Church Diocese of Gangtok opened a new Bridge of Hope centre in a hilly village on 11th June 2016.
Mr. Dawa Lepcha (Councillor, Gorkha Territorial Administration) and Tarkeshwar Konwar (Panchayat Member) were the chief guests on the occasion and inaugurated the centre by lighting the lamp. The newly enrolled students of the Bridge of Hope centre and their parents also were part of the inaugural program.
While addressing the gathering, Mr. Dawa Lepcha said, “This is our great privilege to have such a huge Bridge of Hope project in our locality. I am greatly thankful to Believes Church for having great concern towards the poor children of our village”.
Currently 75 underprivileged children are already enrolled in this new Bridge of Hope centre. Here they will be given free tuition, health care, nutritious food and school supplies, thus equipping them not only to grow into responsible citizens, but also to reach their full potential.
