As part of its contribution to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission), Believers Church Himachal Pradesh inaugurated its sanitation project on 21st November 2015. The church also organized a mosquito net distribution program at the same event.
The program was conducted in a colony whose inhabitants generally earn their livelihood through daily labor. They do not have much access to education and live in unhygienic situations, with almost no proper sanitation facilities. So, with an aim to improve their quality of life and health, the church launched the sanitation project, and through this project the church will construct toilets for 40 of the neediest families residing in this area in the near future.
Mr. Ram Kumar (MLA) was the chief guest for the program. He inaugurated the sanitation project as well as the mosquito net distribution. He handed out the mosquito nets to 250 needy people who had gathered at the event. All of them thanked the church for organizing such a program and reaching out to help them.
Believers Church organizes free medical camps, distributes warm clothes and mosquito nets and provides access to adequate sanitation and clean drinking water to help people and communities stay healthy.
