Believers Church Tezpur organized a poverty alleviating gift distribution program on 19th February 2016.
Mr. Padma Hazarika (MLA) and Mr. Manobonta Deborai (Superintendent of Police) were the chief guests in this program. During his inaugural speech, MLA appreciated the church for the various initiatives taken to empower the poor and needy. Then, he along with Mr. Manobonta Deborai distributed the gifts among the beneficiaries.
That day, 620 families were given with items like 200 bundles of tin sheets, 30 sewing machines, 100 goats, 20 cows, 20 handcarts and 400 blankets. The church also gifted tricycles to 6 physically challenged people. All of them thanked the church for gifting them with useful and life-sustaining items.
Distributions like this are example of how the church is reaching out to the poor and needy through its Poverty Alleviation Project.
