Believers Church Synod Secretariat delivered 5,000 food packets to flood victims in relief camps in Haripad, Kerala on 30 June.
Bishop Dr. Samuel Mathew inaugurated the distribution along with Sri KC Venugopal, Minister of State Civil Aviation and Sri Ramesh Chennithala, MLA Haripad.
Each food packet contained rice, and over 350 people worked together to ensure that the distribution would be successful. Believers Church Synod Secretariat staff members, Believers Church Theological Seminary students and Believers Church Hospital representatives filled each food packet and loaded three large lorries. When the lorries reached the relief camps, they helped unload the supplies and deliver them to overjoyed flood victims.
Five thousand families in four relief camps in Haripad benefitted through the program.
This was another in the series of flood relief efforts that Believers Church has been undertaking in Uttarakhand and Kerala over the past week.
