On 23rd June 2016, Believers Church Changlang conducted International Widows Day programs in two places. On this occasion, dry ration packets were distributed to 110 poor widows.
While addressing the gathering in one of the places, Mr. Goan Buruah (head of a village) appreciated the work of Believers Church and the Sisters of Compassion. “Our people here are suffering and they really need help. There were many who came and spoke good things and promised to help our people, but we didn’t see anything happening in reality. But you don’t just preach but you show what you preach in action. I have seen this not just today, but oftentimes” he said.
Kishu Soyang, a widow, said, “I am very happy that I could attend this program and receive this dry ration. The thing that makes me happy is not that I received this gift, but the care and love I get from Sisters of Compassion. I am so encouraged through this gathering here”.
In fact, all the widows were very glad to receive the dry ration packs and they extended their gratitude to the church for the help.
