Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan Expresses Condolences for the Passing of His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom

Today HH Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan expressed his heartfelt condolences along with those of the Believers Eastern Church faithful for the passing of His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan Thirumeni.

Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma, the senior-most metropolitan of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church and the longest-serving Bishop in India fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, May 05, 2021 at the age of 103.

Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan is credited with implementing many projects for the benefit of the poor and the downtrodden. Considering his services to the society, he was awarded with the country’s highest civilian honour of Padma Bhushan in 2018.
