The situation in Afghanistan is dire. It is heartbreaking to watch the chaos unfolding in this country right now. The people who have already witnessed generations of conflict, oppression and displacement have once again been cast into fear, facing a dangerous and uncertain future. They need our prayers more than ever before.

I urge everyone to diligently pray for the peace and protection of the people of Afghanistan. I appeal to all our parishes and the faithful to unite their hearts in intense prayer for all those who are suffering from this crisis. Pray for hope, mercy, justice, and healing for the people in Afghanistan.
