In celebration of International Literacy Day, two local parishes located in Jhapa district organized literacy awareness programs and distributed stationery items to poor and needy children.
While Jerusalem Believers Eastern Church parish distributed stationery items to 60 students of Shree Shanti Primary School, St. James Believers Eastern Church helped 34 needy children with stationery items such as notebooks, pens and pencils.
Before the distribution, the parish priests spoke to the children about the importance of education and encouraged them to work hard and focus on their studies.
Around 100 poor and underprivileged children were benefited through the distribution. The parents and school teachers thanked the church leaders for helping their children with the needed school supplies.
