In a heartening display of the spirit of giving that defines the festive season of Onam, the annual cultural and harvest festival of Kerala, the Sisters of Compassion trainees at St. Thomas Community undertook a remarkable initiative – to reach out to the poor with warm meals.
The team prepared a sumptuous Onam lunch that included an array of delectable dishes and distributed it to 35 deserving individuals, ensuring that everyone can partake in Onam festivities, regardless of their circumstances. Their journey extended beyond the kitchen as they ventured into the neighborhoods of Thiruvalla and nearby areas, giving out not just food but also the message of togetherness and empathy.
As the Onam distribution drew to a close, SOC members expressed their commitment to continue engaging in similar acts of kindness in the future, reaffirming their dedication to serving the community.
