The ongoing second wave of Covid-19 pandemic has affected the lives of some of the most vulnerable communities in Nepal. To alleviate the suffering of the poor and needy, a local parish in Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Birtamod supplied dry ration kits to 10 poor and needy families in Jhapa District, Nepal on 6 June 2021.
The beneficiaries were daily wage laborers. Each family received a kit containing 30 kg rice, 1 kg salt, and 1 liter oil.
Ashok Rai, one of the recipients, said, “I am a daily wage laborer, but due to the lockdown I am out of work and finding it difficult to survive. I express my heartfelt thanks to the church for providing us the needed food items.”
