The Ghaggar River’s breach at two points has caused severe flooding in 48 villages in the Mansa district, Punjab. The unprecedented floods have resulted in the destruction of numerous homes, displacement of over 10,000 people, and submersion of crops on hundreds of acres of farmland. The affected families are currently struggling with acute shortages of food and drinking water.
However, in the midst of this disaster, a local parish in the Diocese of Chandigarh, took the initiative to provide much-needed assistance to those affected by the floods. The priest and members of the local parish distributed drinking water and food items to the affected villagers.
