In a heartfelt tribute to Constitution Day, Holy Trinity Believers Eastern Church parish in Nepal organized a noble blood donation program, joining forces with the Nepal Red Cross Society. The altruistic initiative, held on September 20, 2023, aimed to alleviate the shortage of life-saving blood in Nepal and offer a lifeline to those in dire need.
The event commenced with prayer led by His Grace Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa. In his speech, he urged attendees, stating, “If our blood can grant someone a new lease on life, let us unite in supporting the Nepal Red Cross Society by donating a pint of our own blood.”
Setting a remarkable example, Episcopa himself became the first donor, leading by a profound personal commitment to the cause. In a procession of benevolence, parish priest and devoted members followed suit. In total, 30 individuals, including Episcopa, contributed to this life-affirming endeavor.
Expressing her deep gratitude and joy, Mrs. Sangita Shrestha, a representative of the Nepal Red Cross Society, shared her heartfelt sentiments, “As members of the Nepal Red Cross Society, we understand the hardships and blood shortages we frequently encounter. Often, we are unable to meet the dire need for a mere pint of blood. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your invaluable assistance. We will remain forever indebted to your generosity.”
