There is no better gift than providing warm clothing to the needy during the winter season. This is the reason why the priest and the faithful of St. Mary’s Believers Eastern Church in Syangja district, in Diocese of Pokhara of Nepal undertook an initiative to distribute winter clothes to needy families on 7 January 2023.
To contribute to the noble cause, the local church members donated money and altogether, they could raise 65,000/- Nepali rupees. With the amount raised, the local church purchased blankets and dry ration items such as 25 kg of rice, 1 kg each of daal and salt, and 1 Liter oil and handed them over to 13 needy families.
The beneficiaries included widows and elderly persons. As per the individual needs of the beneficiaries, some were given blankets, some were given fund, some were given dry rations and some were given both blanket and dry ration items.
Laxmi B.K, 50 years old, said, “I thank St. Mary’s Believers Eastern Church for realising our difficult situation during this winter and providing us warm clothes. Once again thank you very much to all.”
