The Diocese of Siliguri dedicated nine toilets in different locations in the month January. Around 60 people can access these new facilities.
These villages didn’t have proper sanitation facilities. Usually the villagers depended on nearby paddy fields or open spaces to defecate. The illiterate villagers were completely unaware of the health hazards of this unhygienic practice.
In this condition the church took the initiative to construct toilets for the villagers. The villagers were very happy and said that the new sanitation facilities were a blessing to them.
Through the sanitation project Believers Church helps the needy communities to establish a healthy practice.
