80 Needy Families Receive Essential Items in Diocese of Chennai

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage economies, lives, and livelihoods, Believers Eastern Church parishes in India are relentlessly working to provide assistance and support to those in need.

The priest and members of a local parish located in Thiruvallur District in Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Chennai reached out to 80 poor and needy families in the community with dry rations and essential vegetables on 2 June 2021.

Each family received 5 kg rice, 1 kg tomato, 1 kg onion, 500 grams of Brinjal and other essential items. The families were happy and expressed their gratitude to the church for the timely help.

“I am a daily wage laborer but due to the lockdown I am out of work and I am finding it difficult to provide for my four children. I am grateful to the church for providing us the needed food items. We need not worry about our meals for the next few days”, said a villager by name Kuppasami.
