In the month of May 2014, the Diocese of Siliguri dedicated 14 toilets for villagers lacking sanitation facilities. Altogether 71 people are benefited from this initiative.
Previously the villagers didn’t have proper sanitation facilities and they used the nearby paddy fields or roadsides to relieve themselves. Through their lack of awareness and this unhygienic practice the villagers were susceptible to many diseases.
Through the sanitation project the church raises awareness among many communities about the need for hygiene.
