On 21st July 2014, the Diocese of Patna held a gift distribution program in a slum. In this program 50 people received medicated mosquito nets and 15 widows received saris.
The people in this slum are daily laborers and they struggle a lot to provide even one daily meal for their families. Due to the poor hygienic condition of the slum and the lack of awareness, many people were susceptible to diseases like malaria. To improve the health of the people and prevent malaria the church distributed medicated mosquito nets.
Mrs. Pramila Kumari (Manager of Women’s Helpline) was the chief guest of the program. She appreciated the work of the church among poor and needy.
Mahamad said, “I am an orphan, I sleep here and there. I was afraid of dengue and malaria. I am so thankful to the church for giving me a mosquito net.”
Believers Church works among slum dwellers, orphans, widows and leprosy patients to improve the quality of their life.
