During a sacred ceremony held at the St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church Kohalpur, 48 ordinands, representing three dioceses of Nepal -Kathmandu, Pokhara and Kohalpur, were ordained to the order of diaconate.
His Grace Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa was the chief celebrant at the ordination ceremony. His Grace Theodore Mor Origen Episcopa and priests concelebrated the liturgy. Executive members of National Counsel Committee, and ordained priests from Kohalpur diocese were present to grace the holy ceremony with their valuable presence.
The diaconate ordination service commenced with a solemn procession of candidates and hymnal singing by the choir team of St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church Kohalpur. Followed by, the ordinands were presented before H.G. Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa for the ordination. The ordinands affirmed their pledges to serve the Lord faithfully and adhere to the constitutions, faith and traditions of the Holy Church.
They received the essential elements of the sacrament when they each approached H.G. Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa, who laid his hands on their heads and prayed the prayer of the ordination. After which each one of them was presented with the Bible, symbolizing their charge to serve churches and nourish the faithful with the Word of God. The sacred service ended with a word of prayer and benediction by His Grace Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa.
Rajan Karki, a newly-ordained deacon said, “God has given me this greatest responsibility of serving Him and His Church as an ordained deacon and I thank my leaders who found me worthy of this ordination.”
