40 Families Receive Free BioSand Filters in Uttarakhand

On 9th February 2015, Believers Church Uttarakhand distributed BioSand Water Filters to 40 families.

These families drink water from a hand pump which is contaminated with mud and black leaves. And many fell sick with kidney stone and stomach problems because of it. But since they don’t have any other water source available there, they continued using this same water.

Now, they can purify this unclean water using their new water filter and stay safe from all waterborne diseases.

“We all were suffering from stomach problems because of drinking this impure water,” said Karan, a beneficiary. “I will let my neighbors also to use my filter.”

Through digging bore wells and open wells and by distributing bioSand water filters, Believers Church improves the health of poor and needy people in rural areas.
