40 Families Receive BioSand Water Filters on World Water Day

Believers Church Diocese Kolkata distributed BioSand Water Filters to 40 needy families on World Water Day, 22nd March 2016.

These people collect water from a tube well for their daily needs. This water contained arsenic content in it and hence wasn’t safe for drinking. Still, these people used it for drinking and cooking as they did not have money to afford a filter. So, the church organized this distribution to help such families to drink pure water.

“Previously, we used to filter the water we drink by using old clothes. But it was still not effective and made my children fall sick,” said Sapan Murmu, one recipient. “Thank you so much for gifting us with this filter.”
