358 Families Receive Income-Generating Gifts in the Diocese of Jorhat

The Diocese of Jorhat organized poverty alleviation programs in three different districts from 24th to 31st July, 2014. Altogether 358 families received gifts from these programs. The gifts included 67 sewing machines, 59 bicycles, 19 piglets, 52 pulling carts and 483 tin sheets.

Bishop B. Sunderraj, Rupjoyti Kurmi (local MLA) and Ritu Moni Hazirika (Press Club President) were the chief guests of these programs.

“I am very much grateful to Believers Church’s Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan and delegates for taking this form of social development programs and serving the poor. And I am always ready to help the church” said the local MLA.

Bro. Probosoy, a beneficiary who received tin sheets, said, “I am from a poor background and now I am happy that I can put a good roof on my house. Thank you so much for providing me a good shelter.”
