On 15th July 2017, Believers Church Diocese of Shillong distributed mosquito nets to the poor residents of a village.
A good number of families living in this place earn their livelihood through animal husbandry and selling cow’s milk. As cattle sheds are kept adjacent to their homes, the people here are forced to live under the most unhygienic situations and the area where they live is infested with mosquitoes and flies. As a result many of them regularly fall prey to malaria and other mosquito-borne illnesses.
To safeguard these families from these dreadful diseases, the diocese arranged a mosquito net distribution program in the village and distributed bed nets to 300 neediest families.
