In an effort to protect the poor from the pain of hunger and starvation a local parish in Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Kathmandu reached out to 30 poor families in Dhading District, Nepal with ration kits on 1 July 2021.
These families are among the worst hit by COVID-19 pandemic and have been going through a tough time to put food on the table. During the distribution, each family received a package of ration kits consisting of 30 kg rice, 1 litre oil, 1 kg salt, and 2 bathing soaps.
While speaking at the event, Mrs. Radhika Gurung, ward chairman, said, “I am so thankful to Believers Eastern Church Nepal and the local parish for taking the initiative to help the needy with essential supplies during this pandemic time. It is a great work that you are doing. You really have a kind and generous heart to help others. Keep up your good work”.
Sister Sarita Tamang said, “I am so grateful to the Church and its leaders for their concern towards daily wage workers like us. When the lockdown was imposed, my husband lost his job and it became very difficult for us to meet our daily needs. In such a tough time, the church has helped us with essential items. It is really a great help for us.”
