Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan ordained 30 men from nine different dioceses as clergy at the Synod Secretariat on 14th August 2014. Bishop Dr. Samuel Mathew also participated in the program. He presented them to the Metropolitan for the ordination service.
The Metropolitan spoke to the clergy, “A good shepherd is the one who will be willing to sacrifice even his own life for the sake of his sheep.” And then he challenged them to be good shepherds and serve the poor and needy.
He then blessed the men by laying hands on them and ordained them for the service. Each clergyman was presented with a stole and a Bible representing their charge to serve people and nourish them with the Word of God.
These thirty men will join the rest of Believers Church’s clergy in spiritually nurturing their parish’s congregations and showing God’s love by practically serving their communities.
