In an effort to provide improved sanitation facilities to the poor in rural areas, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Banswara inaugurated 23 toilets in four districts of Rajasthan on 5 February 2018.
The toilets were built for poor families that had no access to sanitation facilities. Due to open defecation, these families faced various health problems and women used to fear for their safety and loss of dignity.
“I thank Believers Eastern Church for building free toilets for many poor families”, said Manish Gundiya, a beneficiary. “Due to lack of a toilet facility, women faced lot of difficulties, especially at nights and during pregnancy. Through installing toilets the church has provided them safety and also protection from various diseases”.
To ensure that access to proper sanitation becomes a reality for all, Believers Eastern Church builds hundreds of toilets each year in rural areas and urban slums and helps make these areas open-defecation free.
