To mark the occasion of World Mosquito Day, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Birtamod organized a mosquito net distribution program in a remote mountain hamlet situated in Taplejung District of Nepal on 20 August 2022.
The diocese undertook this initiative with the aim of reducing the incidence of mosquito-borne diseases among the poor and needy people of this village.
During the distribution program, a church representative spoke about the dangers of diseases spread by mosquitoes and urged everyone to utilize mosquito nets.
At the end, mosquito nets were distributed to 20 underprivileged families of the village. Besides, educational materials such as notebooks, color pencil, eraser, water bottle and other materials were gifted to 12 kindergarten students.
The beneficiaries joyfully received the gifts and appreciated the humanitarian work of the Church.
One of the beneficiaries said, “Thank you so much for distributing these nets among us. The Church is doing a great work to save people’s life from mosquito-borne diseases.”
One of the parents said, “Thank you for gifting educational materials to my child.”
