A Poverty Alleviation program was held on the 12th of July by Believers Church Dhemaji Diocese.
Altogether 19 families from poor background benefited from this program. On behalf of the church, Rev. Fr. Ajay distributed tin sheets, sewing machines, a pulling cart and cow free of cost to the beneficiaries. The people were happy with Believers Church for lending a helping hand.
Nibaram is a paralytic who is not able to work to feed his family. Before his paralysis he was the sole breadwinner of his family. He said, “Our house is leaking from the holes in the thatch that is damaged. I worry when I see it and my wife cannot afford to buy tin sheets to replace the thatch. I am glad to receive tin sheets for my family. I thank God and Believers Church for showing concern towards my family.”
Abdur, after receiving a pulling cart said, “With this pulling cart I can go for work to carry loads…I can make more money than before to support my family”.
