The 18th batch of the Sisters of the Cross commenced with the prayers and blessings of H.H. Moran Mor Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan at the church’s global headquarters on June 29, 2024.
In his inspiring inaugural address, Moran Mor Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan encouraged the sisters to work hard, persevere, and give their best throughout their training. Sharing the inspirational story of Mother Teresa, he said, “Just like Mother Teresa, who saw Jesus in everyone, we need to see the face of Christ in those we serve, especially the poorest of the poor.”
The newly enrolled sisters, over 80 of them, will undergo rigorous training, preparing them for their mission to serve some of the most marginalized and vulnerable communities. After completing their training, they will dedicate themselves to working among slum dwellers, leprosy patients, and widows, embodying the church’s commitment to social justice and compassion.
