Believers Church Diocese of Kathmandu conducted the graduation ceremony of tailoring students in one Bridge of Hope center on 15th February 2015.
Rev. Fr. Chitra inaugurated this program and distributed certificates to each student. 18 women, who completed the six-month long tailoring course successfully, received their certificates.
“We have learned 20 different clothes like kurta, pajama, apron, shirt, pant, cushion, Nepali cap, clothes to carry hot cooking vessels, table-cloth, flower vase and decoration items to stitch,” said Bishnu Timilsina, one graduated student. “We are not going to sit back but to open our own shop and make some income using the skills we have learned.”
Through vocational training programs, Believers Church empowers underprivileged women and helps them to become self-supporting by giving them training in useful skills.
