Eleven Bridge of Hope centers held tailoring graduation ceremonies in the Diocese of Delhi between 12th July and 18th July 2014. Altogether 158 women graduated from the six-month long tailoring courses held in these places.
In one of these centers, Mrs. Neha (hospital supervisor) was the chief guest. In her speech she appreciated the work of Bridge of Hope for educating the children and empowering women through the tailoring course. Also she distributed certificates among the graduates.
“I am uneducated and my husband is a daily laborer,” Sis. Aarati said, “I want my children to attend school and study. Often due to the financial problem I was not able to support my children for their education. I thank Bridge of Hope for providing this training program, now I can earn and support my children.”
The main objective of the training program is to empower women and to generate livelihoods, thus improving their lives. Every year, hundreds of women get basic training on stitching clothes from these centers.
