On 21st July 2014, the Diocese of Ranchi inaugurated a new bore well for the villagers facing water scarcity. Every day more than 150 people access this bore well for their water needs.
Most of the people in this tribal village are farmers or daily laborers. The old hand pumps the villagers used to depend on were damaged and the water was polluted. To fetch pure drinking water, they had to walk kilometers and the situation worsened in summer.
To help the villagers and to ease their struggle for water, the church installed a bore well for them. The villagers were very happy and said, “It’s a great source of pure water; for a long time we were trying for a hand pump, but we didn’t have enough money for that.”
Through the clean water project the church has provided pure drinking water in thousands of communities.
